He joined Anglo American in 2001 at Konkola Copper Mines plc. He was subsequently appointed global CFO for Anglo Coal. He became executive director of finance at Anglo American Platinum in June 2006 and later stepped in as joint acting CEO. Norman was CEO of Scaw Metals from May 2008 and later CEO of Thermal Coal from October 2009, a position he held until 2012.
Beginning his career in his home country of Zambia at Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM), Norman subsequently spent 17 years at Deloitte & Touche, the last eight as an equity partner. He has more than three decades of experience in the mining industry.
Norman is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
